What is a Funnel of Focus?

A Funnel of Focus is an optional tool within Goal Setting that breaks a big goal down into the daily action that will move the needle most.

The idea is simple: if you know where you're starting from and where you want to end up, you can work out exactly what needs to happen annually, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily to get there.

For example, if your goal is to earn £60,000 in the next year and you're currently earning £24,000, the gap is £36,000. The Funnel breaks that down automatically:

- Annual target: £36,000 additional revenue
- Quarterly target: £9,000 per quarter
- Monthly target: £3,000 per month
- Daily action: £98 per day — which might mean 2 new client calls per day

Justtasks calculates the interval targets automatically if you set a numeric starting value and target value on your goal. The intervals themselves are suggested based on how long you have until your target date — short goals get fewer levels, long goals get more.

You can also link habits directly to your Funnel daily target, so the connection between what you do each day and what you're trying to achieve is always visible.

We recommend creating a Funnel of Focus for no more than two or three of your most important active goals. Trying to actively funnel every goal at once leads to an unsustainable number of daily actions. Pick the goals that will move your life forward the most and focus your funnel there.
